Zootropolis 2

Judy Hopps, the bunny cop, and her partner-in-crime-solving, Nick Wilde the fox, are back on the case in Zootopia. This time, trouble kicks off when Gary De’ Snake slithers into town and turns everything upside down. Judy and Nick have to go undercover all over this crazy city to crack the mystery wide open.

This sequel jumps right back into action where their last adventure left off. Remember that time they solved Zootopia’s biggest case ever? Yeah, it was a big deal and even won an Oscar!

Things have changed a lot since then, especially in animation. Jared Bush wrote this story—he’s done stuff like Moana—and he’s co-directing with Byron Howard from Encanto fame. They’ve really dialed up both the story and how amazing everything looks, introducing cool new characters like Gary De’ Snake and Nibbles Maplestick the beaver.

There’s even a wild scene with 50,000 animals—it’s visually epic! Plus, they’ve slipped in nods to other movies for those older movie buffs out there. Keep an eye out for fun references; it just makes watching all the better!
Parents taking their kids to this movie might notice some familiar mascots from the K-pop group Stray Kids, called SKZOO.

This film is a whirlwind of situations that all somehow connect. Like, picture funny scenes popping up everywhere; one minute you’re on a search site named “Zoogle,” and next you’re watching videos on something called “EweTube.” The movie is packed with jokes, from eyes that look at you sweetly to chuckle-worthy moments where an animal says stuff like, “I’m carrying the weight on my shoulders,” only to realize it doesn’t have shoulders! Every character leans into its animal traits but acts with true human quirks—like Mayor Brian Winddancer, who switched from being an actor to a politician and rocks a mane that looks suspiciously like super bleached hair. It’s all about balancing instincts with logic. Like when someone tells an animal it’s different and it just sticks to its nature with something like, “But I don’t want to be!”

You’ll revisit familiar places from the first Zootopia flick—like Sahara Square and Tundratown—and get introduced to new spots like Lynxley Manor for the Zootenario Gala.
In “Swamp Market,” the animators get to have some fun with all kinds of semi-aquatic animals. It’s super imaginative and great for a laugh. There are also these hilarious scenes where Police Chief Captain Bogo makes the bunny and fox attend group therapy. The program’s called “Partners in Crisis,” run by this new character, Dr. Fuzzby. Plus, keep an eye out for Gazelle—the pop star version of Shakira—singing during the credits! This sequel does a great job showing how differences between people (and animals) really make things interesting, and how true love can come from the most unexpected pairings.
