In the spring of 1945, a train carrying hundreds of Jewish prisoners gets stuck near a small German village occupied by the Red Army. In a context of deep mistrust, despair and revenge, an unexpected friendship emerges between the Russian sniper Vera and a Jewish-Dutch Simone.
